Video Transcript for Review of JR Products RV Locks - Baggage Door Lock - 37200155

Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. And today we're taking a look at the replacement door latch for your under body compartment or your side compartment on your RV. This is going to have a lock so you can keep everything nice and secure, and replace out that damaged or worn out lock for that compartment door. This is going to be a pretty universal size. They are going to vary in length.

This one in particular is going to be a five eighths inch length for that cylinder. So it'll work for a door that is five eighths of an inch thick, or thinner. So as far as how to assemble this, we have our little grommet, it's going to provide some weather resistance for the lock. Always important since we're going to be on the road, dealing with all kinds of inclement weather. We'll have our ring nut or cylinder nut to put on there. A little tricky to get that lined up with the threads without it being cross threaded, so just be patient with it.

And that's going to tighten that down against the inside of our compartment door. It looks like I didn't quite get that on there right. The threads are thin enough with this that it can be kind of tricky to get that lined up correctly. There it goes. So you can tighten that all the way down. And then take one of the blades.

It's going to have two different styles. One's going to be straight, the other one's going to be offset. And then attach the bolt and washer. So pretty easy to get installed. Doesn't require any kind of major tools, maybe a flat blade or a Phillips-head screwdriver to get that installed.

And then once it's in place, you can see that'll lock up nicely. And we can take our key with us, and keep it on our key ring with all our other keys. Does have two keys included. And again, that measurement for the cylinder is going to be five eighths of an inch. So going from the bottom of the lip there, where it actually attaches in, to the back of the locking mechanism. So from this edge to this edge, that's going to be five eighths of an inch. That's pretty much all there is to it. It does have a chrome plated zinc construction. So it should resist any kind of rust and corrosion. Should last you for a long time. It does have a limited lifetime warranty from JR Products, so they should be able to cover you in the event of any accidents or anything else. But I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is going to be the right piece for you. If not, we do have other options available here at etrailer.com, so check them out. Thanks for watching.
